Care & Support

Keva Green, Associate Pastor, is the contact person for the following ministries.  Please contact Keva () if you would like to serve with the ministry or if you need ministry.

Dr. Taxi:

A transportation team, providing rides to doctor appointments, assisting members and meeting their needs, by getting them to their doctor appointments.

SeekFirst JobConnect:

A support ministry provided by the Stephen Ministry of First Church,  works with area businesses for confidential postings of possible openings.  Resumes accepted for a job bank to post in key job search areas.  Position openings welcomed from church members.  Prayer & networking are available on Thursday mornings at 9:00am in the Prayer Room.

Stephen Ministry:

Stephen Ministry is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around the congregation.  Contact Keva if you would like to train to become a Stephen Minister or if you need care from this ministry.

 

Carolyn Giffen, Lay Ministry Coordinator, heads up the following ministries.  Please contact Carolyn () if you would like to assist with the ministry or if you need assistance from the ministry.


Bereavement Meals:

Meals prepared in the homes of Women’s Ministry Volunteers, provides meals for church families, in the event of a church family funeral.

Caring Angels:  

Ministry to First Church Nursing Home and Homebound members.  At Carrollton Health & Rehab Center we offer Bible Study and community friendships.

Clothing Donations:

  • Shoe Drive – Soles For Kids:  Providing NEW shoes for needy children of school age children, the drive is in coordination with Buckner Children’s Homes.  Donations are distributed worldwide.  The Shoe Drive takes place in September.
  • Coat Drive: An effort in the fall receives donations of winter coats for all ages.  Donations are given to Metrocrest Services for distribution.

Crown Ministries:

Crown Financial Ministries offers weekly meetings in Small Groups in a 10 week course, as scheduled.   Classes offer a Scriptural foundation and understanding of stewardship and desires to place people on the road to financial freedom.

DivorceCare Ministries:

A 13 week course that meets weekly, as scheduled.  An national ministry that offers teaching and support for those that are experiencing separation in marriage or divorce.

Food Drive:

Collection of dry goods and food is taken in the fall,  prior to Thanksgiving. to meet holiday needs of our members and non-profit organizations.

Pro-Life Support:

First Church Carrollton takes a Pro Life position on the issue of supporting the life of the unborn, based on a biblical understanding of protecting and upholding the sanctity of life, as it is God’s gift.  We support local Pregnancy Centers and participate with Walks and campaigns to bring awareness.
