MONDAY    TUESDAY

Sundays at First Church

Sunday School classes are offered at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. for all children except 5th and 6th graders, who meet at the 11:00 hour. Children are to be picked up at 10:30 to attend the Fellowship Time in the Children's Ministry Center with their parents. Children in grades K-2 may attend classes at both hours, and different lessons are provided at the 2 sessions. Children 3rd grade and up will attend one Sunday school class and then attend Worship with their parents. For more info contact Cindy Johnston.

Special Needs Class at 9:00 AM has been faithfully led by Linda Akers. See Cindy Johnston about the opportunities for a special needs child.

FIRST PLACE early childhood ministries ministers to the little ones from infants on, as well as to their parents, providing loving and safe care for our children. Ginny Lawler is the acting director.

Pre-teens, grades 5-6
These "tween-agers" have their own special classes where the boys meet separately from the girls for the hour.  In both a teaching and sharing setting, these young people explore the Bible and relate it to their own lives, learning what it means to walk with Jesus.
Classes meet at 9:30 and 11:00.

Wednesday Nights at First Church

FIRST Kids
Kindergarten - 4th Graders start out with music including singing, instruments and movement.  From there they go to age-level Small Groups for Bible teaching and life application.  The evening is topped off with game time and lots of laughter. Begins at 7:00 p.m.

END ZONE/Pre-Teens

(Grades 5 and 6)
This lively group calls itself "E.N.D.  Zone" which stands for "Equipping New Disciples".  E.N.D. Zone meets each Wednesday night and continues through the summer offering a time of fun and games as well as Bible study.  The summer months include outings and socials so that this group of young people can make friends within their church family and be ready to move into the youth group upon entering 7th grade.

FIRST KIDS Fine Arts offer age appropriate choral & drama opportunities under direction of Dana Van Steenbergen,   The ministry includes two special events per year for students Kindergarten through 4th grade.  This is part of our Wednesday Evening Program during the school year.

Paneh Praise for 4th –8th graders is a unique form of worship through movement and dance.  Contact Dana VanSteenbergen for more information.

First Place Ministries is the Early Childhood Department that offers child care for church-wide functions throughout the week including all worship services on Sundays, as well as the Mom’s Day Out and Preschool.  Our name, First P.L.A.C.E. is an acronym for First Program of Learning Activities in a Christian Environment, which is a brief description of the types of different programs offered through this ministry area.

It is our belief that learning begins with children at a very early age and that the people and experiences associated with them throughout their early years should be positive and productive, encouraging and uplifting.

Our programs offer an outlet for parents to involve their children in programs where they can be assured that they are nurtured, taught and cared for by teachers who love children and love the Lord.

First PLACE also offers a weekday Mom's Day Out and Preschool program for infants through PreK4s.

For more details, click here to view the First Place Preschool and MDO page. Acting Director is Ginny Lawler (glawler@firstchurch.net).
