As a church we are all a part of Christ’s body. In scripture it talks about being one body with many parts. The only problem is that ‘if one part suffers, every part suffers’ (1 Corinthians 12:26). So when members of Christ body are going through difficult times it impacts all of us.  One of the blessings of being a part of First Church is seeing how you care for each other. You do that in so many ways as individuals reaching out to each other, as well as groups working together to assist. One of the ways you have been extremely helpful is by giving to the Emergency Fund which is used to assist members in critical situations. Your gifts have been a tremendous blessing to other members who might be dealing with illness or financial difficulties

We also recognize that sometimes our members have needs that someone might be able to help with if they only knew what was needed.  For instance, an individual in our congregation is in need of a bed for a family member who is escaping a difficult situation and coming here to live. Or another member might be able to get to a new job if they had a bicycle. Maybe you just happen to have a bed or a bike that you were hoping to give to someone.  

Numerous times we have heard people say that they wished there was a way that we could share those needs.  So….we are going to try something.  It will be a NoB (Needs of the Body) Blog. Feel free to list some of the needs that you are aware of or check the NoB Blog to see if maybe you might be able to assist someone else. Please keep this new ministry tool in your prayers that we might be able to share and meet various needs within our community. Also, be in prayer that someone within our church might feel called to be a part of this ministry and be willing to help coordinate some of the communication.
