Dane leads worship for Nine Thirty, our emerging worship service. Dane also creates much of the graphic and video content for Sunday morning worship. In addition, Dane is a leader in our Contemporary worship team and supports youth group and CCA senior high worship teams. Dane has been musically inclined almost from birth, singing and playing drums in churches in Alabama and Dallas where his dad was Minister of Music. He picked up the guitar one day when the youth worship band he was leading lost its guitarist. Since then, he has only occasionally been able get behind his first instrument, the drums. Dane led worship in Methodist Churches in Dallas and Levelland, Texas before joining the staff at First Church in June of 2004. Dane recently completed his music degree at the University of North Texas.
In July of 2005, Dane met his wife Abbey when he was invited to lunch after church by her parents. He convinced her to go with a group on a mission trip to Mexico
the following month. They were married a year later on August 12, 2006. Dane and Abbey
live in
Carrollton.
When he’s not making music he enjoys hanging out with his small group, sharing his wife’s love for movies and tv series on DVD and discovering his wife’s hidden musical talents.
