Carolyn serves First Carrollton in the area of ministry and administration.  Joining the church staff in 1990 as the Education Administrative Assistant for Children & Adult Ministries, she later became the Youth Ministry Assistant in 1992.  In 1995, Carolyn was asked to develop the area of Lay Ministry.  Serving as Coordinator, she works with lay people to develop new ministries, enabling people to find their place of service to the church and in the community.  Carolyn continues oversight to these individual ministries.

Carolyn has served as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor for over ten years and currently works with  Richard Dunagin as Administrative Assistant, serving with Worship Staff, Church Council. Leadership Team special projects, and has been the Administrator for multiple Capital Campaigns. 

Carolyn Giffen attended the University of North Texas and she and her husband Doug, became a part of First Church Carrollton in 1974.  Carolyn and Doug raised three sons at First Church with the two youngest attending Carrollton Christian Academy.  Through the support and guidance of this local church, each child grew and developed into the “way he should go” and today are leaders in their communities, married and serving God.  Carolyn is blessed with two grandsons and continues to use the model of Jesus in Luke 2:52 as she prays for and works with her children, her grandchildren, and her partners in ministry, “that they continue to increase in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and Man.”
