Hiring a part-time Youth Director

We are currently hiring a part-time Youth Director. 😃


The Youth Director leads ministries for students in grades 7–12, fostering community, discipleship, and outreach. This role supports parents and volunteers while advancing First Methodist Carrollton’s mission to know Christ and make Christ known.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of youth ministry (grades 7–12), including retreats, camps, fundraisers, and mission projects
  • Teach and organize small groups; select or prepare curriculum that promotes spiritual growth
  • Recruit and develop volunteers; work with youth committee
  • Oversee youth worship band and maintain AV equipment
  • Manage youth budget and administrative tasks (calendar, communication, compliance with Ministry Safe)
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students via email, social media, and other channels
  • Help coordinate Confirmation with Senior Pastor
  • Develop outreach strategies to engage youth and families
  • Integrate youth into church life
  • Other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5–7 years of youth ministry experience desired
  • Strong personal faith aligned with Wesleyan theology
  • Passion for youth and ability to connect with middle and high school students
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Evangelism and outreach focus
  • Relational, joyful, and adaptable leadership style
  • Conflict resolution skills and strict confidentiality
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and organized
  • Proficient in social media, basic AV equipment, and computer skills
